The constant requirement to rejoin the group on yahoo is so bad that I'll not go there again.

Yes; please! Studio customers are being punished in that we have to check two sites to keep up.

I don't have that problem but Yahoo only keeps you signed in for a limited period: 2 weeks but you need to tick the box on sign in.
The other possibility is that you are blocking cookies from Yahoo.

That's a bit over the top I think.  If you set the Studio Group to send you emails, even if it's just periodic digest messages, you still only have to check one site (this one) and the Studio Group stuff you get in your email automatically.  Having said that, I still do have plans to move the Studio Group here but that's a little more complicated because that is a restricted access group where only Studio Edition registered owners can join and see messages.

I never could get used to the email method so I use the group as a web site. I will continue to scan the message titles until the change. Thanx.

I liked the simple email list structure. A filter on Thunderbird to bring relevant messages in one map, qimage and qstudio shared the same map. A filter on some contributors. One overview of all subjects. Reading the subject lines only and avoiding threads that are of no interest to me but with the knowledge they exist. I do not see that with the site forum which has the threads more pre-categorised so one may overlook an interesting topic or one has to plow through all the categories.

I understand there's no way back so yes move it all here.

Is there a way that you could make a Qstudio addition to the webpage that will only be visible to Qstudio subscribers recognised on their identity etc.?  Another URL to a page to log in would make it less attractive.

I've outlined the benefits of the forum before and they are numerous.  Posts can have pictures embedded, files attached, and they don't get disconnected from the posts where you have to go hunting for some random file name in a bunch of files to find the associated image or file.  They just show up right in the posts themselves.  The search here actually works (unlike Yahoo).  It's easy to send private messages to other members if you like.  Monthly articles that are referred to often on the Qimage group are right here: you don't have to leave the site to view them or leave feedback on them.  There are other areas to talk about related but potentially "off topic" discussions that don't clutter the Qimage group.  Even within one board (Qimage for example) you can choose only to follow the discussions you are interested in.  And much more.  So yes, this is the "new place" to be.  The Qimage Studio group will likely be here too eventually but right now, that is better served in a separate area due to it being a restricted group.

With SMF you can set up a non-post based membergroup (for Studio users) and restrict access to a board - say a QStudio section - to that group.

Thanks.  I'm aware of that and that's how I plan to do the Studio forum here.  The down side is giving each member access to that forum... individually.  It's rather tedious.  Sad
