Hello everyone. As said in the title of this post, I' m totally new to this forum. I do not use Qimage One yet (on iMac here), but I plan to get it if/when I buy a new printer (probably the Canon Pro 1000).
I' m a " experienced" amateur in photography, but so far haven' t done any serious printing myself (using pro labs instead). So now I would like to do all that printing myself.
With all the good stories about Qimage, this really caught my interest. The more I read and see about it, the more I like it.
The first questions here certainly are beginners questions, so I don' t think anyone has a problem answering (?).

I was looking into the purge sheets that Qimage can create ("on a schedule Qimage One can schedule the unclog pattern to be printed at a regular interval of your choosing" the website says). That sounds very nice (especially with a printer as the Canon Pro1000 I think. Might help saving some ink? Maybe someone has experiences here?).

My questions are:
1. Should I leave my printer "on" or "of" ....shut it down or not? Or just leave it like it is and it will run to sleep/idle? (ofcourse for Qimage to print its regular unclog pattern)
2. Can I safely shut down my iMac? Or should this also be kept on? (while Qimage works....ahum...I don' t think so...but not 100%sure)

Thanks you Fred! Do you have to keep your windows computer "On" ? And your printer? Can you safely shut them down (put "Off" ) while Qimage does its work? Or must you keep them "On" ?

Sorry but I was unavailable and Mel took over.
That points out that there are a myriad of good folks on here to help any time.
As Mel said, seems logical that the printer and computer must be on to work.
There  is some "shrink to task bar mode" in the PC where Qimage sort of sleeps quietly waiting.
Truthfully, since I got my Canon printer in 2016, I haven't needed the Unclogger, so I sort of forgot some details.
