Title: Print a small 8x10" sample of a larger 30x40" print
Post by: gchappel on March 19, 2017, 06:18:25 PM
I am trying to print one or two small 8x10" test prints from images I will be printing roughly 40x60.
I need the test prints to be at the same resolution, and undergoing the same qimage sharpening as the large print will.
I am trying to evaluate detail in some vital areas- to see how large I can push these before I get rasterization like artifacts.
I am pushing things- I will be at 150-170ppi.
Looking for a way to do this without throwing away 40x60 prints.
Printing through qimage to an ipf8400.  Workflow exported from lightroom.
I am sure this is covered somewhere in this forum, but i did try to search without success.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Gary

Gary,
Qimage has exactly what you need all built in. It's called the test strip It keeps shrinking the test print but keeps the ppi, and allows yo0u to slide around and print/inspect the areas you want to check on.
Let me find the video for you..
