Post by: richard cooper on November 08, 2010, 09:55:05 PM
Is this the end of the line for the Pro Version?

No updates since 2010.209

Richard,
No response means that it was covered and recovered a few times before.

Mike has made it clear and fair for all.
Qimage Lite and Pro versions will stay staus quo. That is not the end of the line. You can use it on 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows for as long as you like.
The Studio version will continue to get Raw file coverage additions  (more new cameras) as they are released, but no further enhancements.

The Qimage Ultimate is the new kid on the block.
It has all the Raw file enhancements. It also contains the Tone Targeted Sharpening (TTS) the new color management engine, the ability to Email Raw files and its filters as a package with one click, and of course, the Lightning Raw feature, and more.
As Mike develops new features (soon to come), they will be only found in the Qimage Ultimage version.

It's time to step up to Qimage Ultimate.

Right said, Fred.  :)  As discussed ad nauseum in other threads, Lite/Pro/Studio are in maintenance mode which means they get updated to keep them up to date with the latest Windows operating systems and the latest cameras for raw support in Studio.  With Lite/Pro/Studio already fully Win7 compatible and few new raw-capable cameras being released lately, I'd say a reasonable expectation for updates is about bi-annual.  That'd put the next Lite/Pro/Studio update just after the first of the year.  Of course, if MS came out with Win8, then that becomes priority and Lite/Pro/Studio get updated as necessary for the new OS ASAP.

Thank you both for the update.

I am a satisified user of the Pro edition and focus my time spent photographing and printing (Qimage).

I appreciate updates and news releases being pushed to me vs having to tracking this down.
