Title: QI printing option
Post by: aak1946 on November 27, 2015, 11:05:09 PM
Hi,
I setup page layout then set it up to print to file, but then changed this setting to print to printer and this caused loss of all my settings like border and image placement as well as text. Is this normal behavior? If yes, why?
Also, why is it so laborious to center image on print page? When I select center it's not centered and boarders are not even.

Hi,
You need to give us more details, screen shots of print to File screen, page preview and page editor dimensions data.
I tested this just now and there are no problems here so here is what I did, see screens shots below.
1. I set up P2F with the printer page size etc (click the icon) and reduced the ppi so the file size would be less. Also, I made sure a dot was in the "Don't Change Print Size" position.
2. I placed an image in the queue and added 2 mat borders, while and blue.
3. Checked position on page and dimensions.
4. Changed to Print to Printer and checked dimensions again - they were identical except the location dimensions because Print to Printer allows for the page margins (non-printable area)
I hope that helps.
Terry

Just a small addition to what Terry has provided.....
The only way I can "lose" my mats and floating text is to move the image into ON DECK.
That is normal.

The addition of mats and text should be last.

If you need to resize after mats are applied, see Challenge 36
Just grab the corner of the outside most mat and drag bigger or smaller.
See snaps
