I am new to Qimage. When I import photos from a flash drive or memory card, l frequently only want to import some of the images. In most software you can preview the images before importing them and select which ones to import. I cannot see how to do this in Qimage. If l import with different software l then have to shut Qimage down and re-open it before it will see the new images. Is this a limitation of Qimage or am l just missing something?

I guess many people have different ways of getting images from memory card to hard drive using Qimage Ultimate.
I like to keep it quick and easy.
So when I have a card with 2 different venues, I simply use the built in Flash Card Copy Move (FCCM) and create my folder name in the right side screen, and click GO.
Main thing is that I use COPY and not MOVE. All my images go into the named created folder, and I'm done.
(If you do not see the folder in "FOLDERS", it was probably open during the transfer. Just tap F5 to refresh.)

In the new folder, I just select the ones that are  for another venue, and Right Click MOVE those to a different folder.
Since I use the COPY command in FCCM, I never lose any images.

There are other ways you will find in EDIT SETTINGS of FCCM which will allow you to download differently.

If you are not referring to venues, but are referring to file type, (Raw vs JPG), you can click on what you do not want and it will be bracketed to NO DOWNLOAD, or in Settings, it will separate them.

There is no need to close and reopen QU. Use F5, the standard Windows command to refresh a folder tree or folder contents.

On my Canon camera I'm able to create folders on the memory card so can keep separate session or subjects in separate folders and then use QU FCCM to selectively copy folders.
Also, I never rely on judging an image on the camera screen unless it's very obvious there's a problem (very blurred etc.). I then delete in the camera. QU has tools to compare, rate and sort images in a folder which can be used separate the good from the bad then delete if necessary.

Thank you both for the F5 tip. I am embarrassed to admit I didn't know this. However I still have a problem with importing in Qimage. For example, a member of my family asks me to print two images for them. They give me a flash drive with about 60 images on it and I only want to transfer the two they want printed to my computer. Can I do this with Qimage or do I need to use other software?

Hi Simon,
I didn't realize exactly what the dilemma was. I thought the memory card  had two shoots, or two types of images and you wanted only to upload one of the two.
I have been asked many times to perform the same task... pull two off a stick and print them.

I simply plug the flash drive in; open My Computer (select the drive letter assigned to the Flash Drive), Double click, and there's the 60 images.
Either you know the filenames, or you are viewing the thumbnails using Explorer. Copy and Paste the two you want to your hard drive.
Then open that folder in Qimage, and there they are.
I have a JUNK folder for just those situations.
I Paste the images into the JUNK folder; easy to find when I open QU.

PS Never be embarrassed on this forum.
One time, I was showing how I made a calendar in Qimage, and I had chosen November, and put in 31 days.
