I have been using Qimage Studio with my Epson R2400. I've set up three paper sizes - A4, A3 and A3+ - with set border sizes. All work fine when using Manual - Roll setting. I am currently printing on metal but have to use the front loader, so I've had to change to Manual - Front. Printing on A4 is fine - I can use the same border set up that I use on Manual - Roll. But, when trying to print A3, I cannot use the same border set up. It gives me the "Selected print size is larger than one page. Do you want prints to span multiple pages?".

I'm using english units, but get the same message when trying metric too. The paper size is 11.7 x 16.5 in. My borders are 10.7 x 15.25 in. I have auto cropping off; however, even with auto cropping on I'm still getting the same message. I'm using v2009.268.

Given that this is a specialty metal that I'm printing on, I can't afford to waste sheets playing around with the borders. Any explanation as to why Qimage won't let me use the same borders on front loading versus back loading?

Computer set up:
I have Qimage set up two ways: one on Windows Server 2008, SP2, 64 bit with 8 gig ram
I also have it on a virtual machine (using Hyper-V), running XP, SP3, 3 gig ram

Qimage gives me the same message on both set ups.

I've just tried the same with A3+ and get the same message - the paper size is 13 x 19 in. and my borders are set to 12 x 17.75 in. The same message appears with auto cropping off or on.

I have realised I do have the 2400 driver. When set for manual front loading, the printable area for A3 is only 14.963x11.458, so a 10.7 x 15.25 image would not fit.
Using "fit to page" would yield the biggest possible image, equal to the printable area.
When set to  A3 manual front loading, the Qimage preview clearly shows extended grey areas on the short side of the page, essential for manual front loading I would think.

That was it Terry! The minimum top and bottom margins are .79" for thick paper versus .12" for single sheets. I tested it out on a piece of mat that I cut, just to be sure. The metal is printing as I write.
