Morning,

I have a large .tiff image file I am attempting to print via Qimage (newest version) and for some reason it processes the file just file and begins to send it over to the sprinter. I open my printers folder in Windows Vista U64 and  see it building then nothing. The spooling appears to stop and the print folder just closes. No errors, no nothing.

Desperate here as the prints are for a show coming up in four days and there are canvas and need to be coated/stretched.

I thought perhaps it was a pixel size limitation but they are 17400 by 6600 and thought Qimage did larger than that. I also seem to recall HP Z3100 driver was capable of larger. Files size is approx. 658 meg.

Help!

Thank you,
Derek

Should have mentioned that I have tested and the file will print from Photoshop CS4 without issue, however I much prefer the output from Qimage. I am running Vista Ultimate 64 on a higher spec'd machine.

thank you

We first have to determine if the problem is inside or outside Qimage.  If the processing bar in Qimage goes all the way to 100%, then the problem is likely not in Qimage but in the driver or Windows spooler.  17400 x 6600 should be a 344 MB file.  If it's 658 MB, that means it probably has alpha channels or layers.  You might want to flatten the file.

If Qimage is spooling to 100% and finishing, these articles contain all the info available on troubleshooting system problems when it comes to printing:

Thank you Mike.

I added a gallery wrap action that ran and it is supposed to automatically flatten the file however perhaps there is an issue with it so I will go about trying to find the issue. I assumed it was a driver/Windows issue as soon as I saw repeatedly that Qimage was finishing its work, but thank you for helping out.

Have a good day

File size is just under 673 meg and there is only one layer so I have no clue what the deal is with this. More thinking cap time!
