Title: Why do I always get the scissors "Remove Manual Cropping" icon?
Post by: dadu007 on April 15, 2020, 04:26:45 PM
Hello,
Long-time hobbyist user of Qimage.
I have this one issue that has plagued me over the years.
When I add a .tif or .jpg or any image, I frequently get the red scissors "Remove manual crop" button.
Why?!!!!!!
I just clicked on the plus button to add the picture. I haven't cropped it!
I click on the button and it says, "This print has a zoomed manual crop. Remove manual cropping from this print?"
Why?!!!
It's uncropped image; only color adjusted image from a photo editor (LR, PS, etc.)
Please help me get rid of this annoying occurrence.
This just happened on a fresh install of Qimage on my new PC.
Auto Cropping is off, btw.
Thx!

When you set your size (before clicking the plus button), you probably selected "Fit to Paper" as the size.  When you do that, the image is fit to the physical paper and then the non-printable margins are cropped off: this is what creates the crop.  If you use "Fit to Page" instead of "Fit to Paper", that won't happen.  The only other way you would get a crop is if you had previously manually cropped that image for that same print size: QU remembers all your preferred crops by print size (aspect ratio of the print).

Regards,
Mike

OMG, That was it. Thank you so much, Mike.
I had selected "Fit to Paper"...
Sorry to sound so testy about it. I appreciate your help and love the software!
