Title: Wide Screen Monitor is very blurred
Post by: mrphotobob on January 30, 2010, 02:08:06 AM
I just purchased a 24 inch monitor and all of the images on Qimage are no longer sharp on the screen.  When you soft proof an image it is very sharp on the screen, but the thumbnails and the print image are not sharp at all, but it looks like the images are badly blurred.  Qimage is the only program that gives me this type of problem, all other software that I run is razor sharp, CS4, LR and NX2.  Are there settings that I can set that will sharpen up those images?  I have the monitor set correctly. ???

I take it from all of the views and no replies that this is something that you will just have to live with if you have a 24 inch monitor.

I'm not sure it is necessarily a monitor issue. There has been other mentions of similar problem here http://ddisoftware.com/tech/qimage-studio-edition/image-appeaance-in-qimage/

Are you able to post a (full or partial) screen shot that shows the issue?  I have a 24 inch monitor running 1920 x 1200 resolution and even with the page expanded to as large as possible, the previews/thumbnails look sharp and without jaggies.  If you aren't running high quality thumbnails, now might be the time:

(1) Use "View", "Thumbnail/File Browser", "Thumb Quality" and set it to "High Quality".

(2) Use "View", "Rebuild Thumbs" to rebuild the thumbnails.

Mike
Changing the resolution made my entire screen to me look worse, my system looks best at 1920x1080.  I followed your directions on the thumbnails and rebuilt the thumbnails and everything cleared up for me.  Thank you for the help.
