hi people, i was going through my pc deleting things to free up some space on my solid state drive, i ran a program called treesize and i was amazed what i saw when it comes to how much space qimage takes up, question is, is there some sort of temporary folder that i need to delete things out of every now and again?
Thanks in advance :-)

I'll try.
First of all, as a maintenance routine, you should click on Utilities in Qimage, and ythe first item in the drop down menu is Manage Disk usage and Raw cache etc. You can allow Q to delete cache files older than......6 months?Huh or whatever.
Second option after cleanup would be to put the needed files on a different hard drive using MIGRATE. See screen snap.
Other than a bigger SSD , that's all I can think of.
Hope that helps.

Hi there, I have just printed 18 photo's. On inspection they are very different to the onscreens shown in Qimage thumbs viewing panel. Some have a green cast and some facial highlights are blown out. I re-installed v2020.123 and when re-printed the prints are the same as when first printed.
Any one got any ideas?

Obviously wrong settings in the driver or ink nozzles clogged.
So info.
1) images from your camera?
2) Raw or jpg?
3) What printer?
What paper?
What ink?
What colorspace and what printer profile?

Let's tackle that first.

OK, this is what I came up with.
I downloaded 2 copies of the NEF for comparison.
First, set Fill to zero
Then I did ODR, and I got a cleaner image.
Then, in image editor I added +20 Saturation. His skin color was too pale. I also added a skinch of DFS3/275 at 90% using Target RGB and selected eyelashes.(Black)
I put both NEFS in the comparitor and compared side by side.
I liked the results
I am emailing the .flt and the .qrs
Make sure the filename matches the filter names.
Remember this is to taste.. and my Canon pro 100 loves this one. Photo is a wall hanger.

I am trying to clean out my "saved printer settings" which has become quite cluttered with settings I no longer use/need. When I go to C://programdata/ddisoftware/qimage/save, I find 2 settings for profiles: a prt and a pr1. What is the difference and can I delete both?

Simpler than that, sir.
Just open the list of saved printer profiles in Qimage, and when you find what you want to delete, right click and DELETE.

No - I didn't refine the raw at all. Used the image editor and cranked the contrast up but that is the only thing in the flt.  Nothing else (except of course the crop)
Just for fun, try using ODR . Turn back the added contrast in flt. Then do ODR
Any chance that Raw could be emailed or sent (Just for fun) to me via G Drive or We transfer or something?

From what I can see from the snaps, excellent improvement in the raw.. Just curious if you tried any twiddly improvement to the QU default raw refine?  Like ODR

Hi,

I often do MS Word documents with a lot of embedded photos. Is there any path that lets me print those docs with Qimage and take advantage of the better color management and such? I assume any such method would work with Powerpoint and other programs?
The only thing I can think of would be if you were able in WORD to export the document as a JPG. Then print.

did reset the paper adjustments on the Pro 1000 and i feed the data over USB, Wifi and Lan. all the same result. Drives me almost nuts! Wink
Hi Martin,
You can rotate the page on the screen simply by clicking one of the two buttons on the bottom See screen snap.
If you want to keep the page orientation but rotate the image, click on the image to be rotated to select it. Then from the bottom of the print tab screen, you see two rotate arrows, a left and a right. Click it.
Just remember that there must be page room for an image to rotate.
If you need more, give more information on your sizes of paper, prints and anything else.

Mel,
Add these to your cutout folder in Qimage.
13  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / SEARCH trick on: October 03, 2020, 12:10:15 PM
I came across an old video showing a trick I had completely forgotten.
When I did a search for ibis, I got 78 returns....  I expected about 40.
Looking at the thumbs, a large group of hibiscus flowers.
Obviously ibis is also included in hibiscus, so the search included hibiscus.
But, if I type into the search box ibis, and on the next line, - hibiscus the search will ignore hibiscus.
Kind of a neat tool.
visually, 085 what I wanted.  086 what I got     087 the search box

Have fun

A long time user of QImage, I am havingg an issue with some TIF files for the first time. I have the most recent version v2020.123

The issue is that QI Ultimate cannot read some TIF files. Message = Image Read Error.

It reads other TIF files.

Question: could it be related to color space? My most recent TIF files are stored with Prophoto color space.

Thanks,

Yvan

Hi Yvan,
Just some information...... What was used to create the TIFFS that will not read?
Prophoto is not a problem. I can easily make and have made TIF using prophoto.color space by doing a convert  in Qimage with profile to profile conversion checked..

"Heavens to Betsy",  everyone!!
I never intended my post to make you clam up because you didn't want to commit your workflow to the scrutiny of the forum.
I really hoped for light banter among us as we want to feel comfortable and new comers should feel comfortable asking questions.
I do apologize. Only meant to generate activity.
