v2019.121      May 3, 2019

Priority: Med

2019.121 includes a "Suggest" feature when selecting printer profiles that eliminate searching through long lists of printer profiles!  See the video: https://youtu.be/PmjT6npl7b4

Interesting update.  Another good concise video, but, what a time waster Smiley When the video finished my 'system memory' suggested   "Irina Markova - Yak54"  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PS-NH0VFDok  40 minutes of interesting flying.

Dinner was late last night.

and camera on auto. Go on, have another 'go' at me.
I will! Do you ever check an image WB out in raw refine by using a know grey area in the image? That at least would be a good idea. I do that sometimes as the grey card shot(s) are not always truly representative.

You can't take it with you.

That is exactly how I treat the white balance problem, if I think image is off colour balance, ctrl key and select a grey area, if I don't like that result resort to manual, mark one eye ball.

There will be almost nothing left to take with me.  Just enough to engrave stone "I told you I was poorly.  Grumpy"

Very interesting read.

79 quid made me cough  Smiley

My colormunki came with a 80 x 60 card, I wasn't able to make head nor tails of it, so left well alone and camera on auto.

Go on, have another 'go' at me.

Spent some time creating a small flyer with PS Elements, what a faff, multi layers, massive files.

Thought, you idiot, why not use Ultimate floating text.

Job done in a few minutes.

37  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Signature Format on: February 24, 2019, 08:15:20 AM
Hi, just created a signature in png format, how do I get this into my image? I see the copyright/signature window but there is no option for png. I see some images in tif in the program data folder.

I use the 'cut our' function

A 1000 x 1000 black tiff with the required text.

My sig cut out attached

The cut out folder is in C: Prog Data> ddisofware> Qimage> cutouts

Probably not helpful, but FWIW, over the years I have had that error occur from time  to time after having been in QIMAGE uninterrupted  for a very, very, long time - I mean hours and hours and having done multiple edits, prints and page setups.  Problem was always solved by closing and reopening QIMAGE.

Same here.  Close and restart.

Fred & Terry

RB Camera Club. -  Ruston Bucyrus  -  defunct Lincoln UK engineering firm building excavators.  All that's left is the Camera Club.
see also USA Bucyrus Erie.  &   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruston-Bucyrus.

Progs Tested.

Watermark Software.com
Watermark Pro
Batch Watermark Photos
Star Watermark Ultimate
Total Watermark

Selected as worth using -

Ais Watermark.  but eliminated as apparently like RB defunct even their payment was system was kaput and the trial ver. had a intrusive watermark the could not be clined out.

TSR Watermark 3.6.03  this I found usable without too much help file consultation.
With this prog I have a blank 1000x1000 black.tiff as a template and then bang the watermark on this and save to QI cut out folder.

Most difficult part is giving a suitable cut out file name and keeping track of same.  This is an age related attention deficit syndrome.

You experts could achive same with PS. PS Elem. and what have you, but I find them difficult.  ?syndrome

Hi Jeff,
Looks like you are nearly there. You could do a very simple one in QU using a plain black image with some grey text with a shadow.
See attached, not as smart as your version though! NB> my version cutout needed to be a tif, jpg did not work very well

I have got there in the end, I am not that good with PS Elements and such, used to be able to use Elements 4 in XP days.

So went the long way round and installed 6 watermarking progs.

After much experimation settled on one and created the required embossed transparent watermark, infact 3 versions - nil transparent, 50% and 75%  -  works well and not to intrusive.

Easy now to  create additions versions, and simple and fast to add to images in QI  save for web. and upload to site host.

Thanks again, for your help-your the BEST!!!!!
You still haven't learned.
Your wife is the BEST.

Even Jeff in the UK knows enough to call his wife SWMBO...   She Who Must Be Obeyed

I came across the term in a TV play - Rumple of the Bailey.

Rumpole of the Bailey is a British television series created and written by the British writer and barrister John Mortimer. It starred Leo McKern as Horace Rumpole, an elderly London barrister who defended a broad variety of clients, often underdogs. The TV series led to the stories being presented in other media including books and radio.

Hi Jeff
but clear embossed has defeated me
Would you clarify what you mean by this - "clear embossed"; maybe show a link to illustrate it?
Do you want a "signature/copyroght text" in one corner of the image or something larger across the whole image?

The emboss would look just like the attached image.

To explain - We have a request to place a water mark on images on our club website which I run and I think a QI cut out is the best way to mark images to discourage plagiarism and keep consistant tidy presentation.  I would probably need three of four with various placements to avoid faces etc.

I am still in the messing about stage. I have got some way to creation with Affinity - 2nd attachment.  That is a first attempt at anything serious with Affinity.

Thanks for any help, must close down now SWMBO has just called.  Back again later today.

Hello All.

Is it possible to create a clear custom embossed water mark 'cut out'?

I have PS Elements 7 and instruction book for PSE 4 and am struggling.

No problem creating text and in any colour, but clear embossed has defeated me.

Our camera club had an interesting lecture last week.

It was on pure photo shop creation of art work.

But the interesting thing was the prints were on metal and of stunning quality, apparently a costly procedure, large prints costing hundreds of pounds

I did ask if it was possible to shove a metal plate though my canon, apparently not Smiley

The artist - Gary Nicholls site is at  http://g-n-p.co.uk/

Thank you Fred.

2018 has been a bit tedious at times, but we can always join in the Forum and see others have problems and that folks like yourself are there to cheer us up.

Keep up the good cheer in 2019.
