136  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Raw Conversion on: July 31, 2010, 12:24:52 AM
Does the Raw conversion using Convert Image use the same method as Flash Card Develop? If not what's the difference?

I write in Word or Notepad then copy/paste so it's less likely to time out.
138  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Sorting out workflow on: July 29, 2010, 06:32:50 PM
In sorting out how best to use UQ I've found something I don't understand.
Hovering over the little X of the thumbnail I get the print size then ĎRMB= Other sizesí
What does that mean?
On previous Qimage and still happens:
I right clicked on the template thumbnail and by mistake clicked on Preview/Add to queue, it added 2000 templates to the queue and generated an error message  ĎQimage has a limit of 2000 images in the queue ..... Ď  Seems strange.
It seems odd that if you use a template via Print Properties/Custom/Layout you canít Right click then Preview/Add to queue. You can use the Recall Job method and it works OK.

  Any thoughts/explanations welcome.

Well done Mike with .102 I can find the scissors now and the size tools. Iíve deleted some of the sizes so can now see down to Custom , Iíd prefer Custom, Fit to Page and Original Size to be at the top so little used sizes could be scrolled for.

I like the new program and expect to put in my order soon. In the meantime a couple of points:
My trial version only allows three prints, when I put the fourth in the queue it tells me only four allowed and wonít go to the print menu.
Iíve had an error message a few times, about not being closed down properly and asking to reset or not. Iíve ignored these and no problems arise but the message box stays underneath.
The Print Properties box seems awkward. If there a number of folders visible in the folder browser, it opens too low down to see Custom settings and I couldnít find the scissors for some time. It would be nice if it could be wider to keep the info visible in two columns. I suppose I could remove some paper sizes but I like the blue writing with alternative sizes.
Iíve also got used to double clicking to add to the queue rather than hitting the little x, old dog new tricks etc
There is no radio button to tick to allow autostart when a card is inserted, I donít want to uninstall my Flashpipe to check this out but Iíve found this useful and would prefer to have it all in the new program.
I like the ďFlashpipeĒ button and would like some more, eg Slide show and others from the menu cheater, thereís plenty of space up there.
It would be good if the name of the filter applied could be seen when the mouse pointer is held over the thumbnails or added to the red info.
All of these are minor points considering I am very pleased with the prints Iíve done, the object of the exercise.

141  Mike's Software / FlashPipe / Re: Converting RAW to TIF on: March 27, 2010, 03:39:34 PM
If I add a Move operation: Photos: and new destination folder. The Tifs go where I want them but so do the RAWS. In the setting menu you can only choose Develop RAW photos AFTER they are copied/moved, my bold underlined.
  Thanks again.

Thanks Fred,
It worked but I had to put the destination folder the same as the source folder and let FP make a 'developed' sub folder. The info comes about having to leave it blank so that's why I couldn't nominate my own destination folder, easy enough to rename it. 'Subfolder new or existing optional' doesn't seem to apply.
After it worked it was strange to get the message:
>All Operations completed

Photo transfers: 0/0
Video transfers:  0/0
Other transfers:  0/0
Amt transferred: 0.00 KB

>Files were transferred to the following locations:

Thanks for your help Fred.

Thanks Fred. Still can't get it to work. Trying to get one RAW file developed from RAW1 folder to  Tif folder
You said "select a destination folder in settings", am I missing something here?
This is what my screen looks like:

After pressing GO, I get :
All Operations completed

Photo transfers: 0/0
Video transfers:  0/0
Other transfers:  0/0
Amt transferred: 0.00 KB

Files were transferred to the following locations:

Iíd like to use Flash Pipe to select some RAW files, convert them to TIFS and save them in a new folder.  It works fine but only if I also copy the RAW files into a RAW folder. Can I do it without copying the RAW files as well?  It seems as if FP will only convert if it is copying as well or have I missed something?
