I was hoping to use QU to do something that I can't see how.
1.)
I'm playing with panorama pictures from 4 or more photos stitched together. If I use 'fit to page' or 'fit to paper' it fits the height and fills the paper but only has a fraction of the width included. I was trying to get the program to do the work of fitting in the maximum width possible on a horizontal page, the height would take care of itself.
2.)
Of course the maximum width available would be along the diagonal, the panorama would need to rotate about 40 degrees anti-clockwise for that. If the panorama height varies that make an interesting problem.

I can do it with trial and error and calculator in photoshop but can anyone see a short cut or two?
   The hours we spend!

Hi Fred,
If you do File>Recall>Select new folder (first icon), the Browse Folder opens as in his screen grab. That must be what nbango is referring to when he gets the I/O error 123.

Now have to load all the other programs.

I seem to have been shifted to Qimage. I use Ultimate. Mike had asked me a question about the error message and I tried to install again to find it.

 I can't install this update. The setup file is downloaded OK but when I run the intaller it doesn't work.

There is a message about waiting for File Permission (not seen before) then it continues and says intall was successful. I am then requested to restart (not seen before) but when I do there is no Qimage short cut, no Qimage in list of Apps, and no Qimage folder made.

If this is repeated and I have made a new folder nothing gets written into it.
I did an uninstall with Revo but no change. In fact it's worse because I can't now install 112 or 111 so I am without Qimage.

I'll keep trying but am running out of ideas.

Any thoughts would be welcome.

Hi Gordo,
I use Qimage in the same way as you, using  template layouts saved as Jobs. I have ďlostĒ images from the saved jobs but it has been because Iíve deleted or altered where they are stored or have somehow changed the Qimage data file or its location.
Have a look in File> Automated Job Log, use the search for the name of Job or picture file and find the last time you used it. If the picture location has changed then no picture can be seen in the Job Log also.
If you have a back up of the Qimage data file you can to use Utilities> Migrate/Copy Application Data to sort it out if the change has been with the Qimage  file, otherwise itís a matter of re-doing them.

I copied your settings and it worked fine. I then put my previous settings in again and this time it worked fine.
I've tried different settings and can't make it not work. Well done, I think you frightened it into behaving.
I've "updated/installed" Win 7 since I  last used the slideshow function, some weeks ago, that's all that's changed.

I tried to use the slideshow to preview a batch of photos and found that it works fine for the Windowed setting but the Full Screen setting only shows the first selected photo then stops. Does anyone else get this?

My scanner is a Minolta, Dimage scan Speed F-2800. Unfortunately it is SCSI connected so I've been transferring the SCSI card for my last three computers. Given the chance now I'd get a USB one. Searching Amazon for slide scanners, there is a whole range from £29, several in the 30s and loads more up to £100+. The ION SLIDE TO PC  has a good write up at about £40.
If there are not many slides etc to do, it would be worth having them done professionally, I've seen an advert quoting 15p each.

Hi Charlie,
It might be worth looking at a slide scanner. They cost £30 and upwards, connect via USB and can do colour and black and white as well as slides. They positify (?) the negatives automatically.
I've converted loads of slides and negatives using mine and get better results than with my flat bed scanner.
Dust is certainly a problem, I find rubbing/brushing can increase static and can make it worse. I haven't tried anti static liquid cleaners but an old lens blower brush helps.
In Paintshop Pro there is a salt and pepper filter which helps. Adjust>Add/remove noise>Salt and Pepper Filter, which saves some cloning.

I'd never heard of IMatch (except for the Apple ITunes Match music one that I use,  I'm surprised there hasn't been a lawsuit).  I might have a play with the free download but it's fairly pricey at $110.
The reason I'd like the Qimage extra links is that I find I see something I want to change just as I'm about to print, so I can go straight off to an editor and after saving the changes I'm straight back in Qimage ready to print. Usually I link to Photoshop  but sometimes Paintshop pro is quicker and Photoline does fancy text more easily.
Using the Photo Editor set up would be simpler if you could select eg C:\Program Files as your starting point to make changing editors easier rather than starting in Qimage folder but separate links would be very useful.
