Thats great, where you show Custom Size for Media Size mine shows User Defined, can't see the Custom Size in that drop down.

Perhaps you mean User Defined?
33  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Roll Paper Layouts on: December 28, 2018, 12:25:47 AM
HI, folks I have some more questions. More often than not I use different width rolls. 10", 17" and 24" rolls. In order to use the paper efficiently I would like to create some layouts. For example I would like to do a 16x20 print on a 17" roll and name the layout as such. 16x20 on 17" Roll. I use portrait mode for all roll work as you previously suggested for roll paper.

The way I have been doing this is to go into the print driver for the printer and create a "user defined" layout. I created one with the width of 17" and a paper height of 22" which gives me a few inches extra on the bottom.

Then of course I select this in the media size on the print and settings tab in Qimage.

So far I have created some custom layouts like a 13x19 on a 17" Roll each time creating a user defined layout in the printer driver.

Is this the best way to create specific layouts on roll paper?

Ok great will look forward to the update but for now will use the soft preview for clarity.

Yes your view looks great wish mine did that.

I followed each of your steps precisely and still my image is pixelated. In soft proof mode it looks good. I sent the file to Fred perhaps you have it but other files look the same way.

I can but I tried other images as well and they are same. I tried a Canon raw file and again in the regular view the image is fuzzy. In other programs the image is crisp and clean. I have sent one along anyway. I also did this screen capture in jpg so you can see the pixelation.

Yes I did exactly and it did not resolve the issue. The only way that I see at this point is to do a softproof that way the image is nice and crisp but on the regular view screen the image is poor but prints fine. I have included the image information attached.

No does not clear up the only way to get a clear photo is to soft proof from the main view screen.

The screen capture is the png the actual file on screen is a tif and that is fuzzy, my screen capture program does the png, one thing I did notice is that if I soft proof it the image becomes clear, hope that helps in resolving this issue?

The thumbnail info on the bottom of the screen says 6720x4480 and here is screen grab from it attached to show the poor image

I did try the rebuild thumb but the image is still not that great, from my perspective this image in Qimage should be the same quality as it is in LR correct?
42  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Cropping Image in LR or Qimage on: December 19, 2018, 09:16:51 PM
Lets say I want to crop an image in LR to a 16x20 should I crop it in lightoom first then bring it into Qimage or leave it as is and then let Qimage do the size. Any disadvantages/advantages either way?

In other words what's the best workflow for this?

I was in Lightroom on an image then I sent it over to Qimage to print but the image on the screen is not crisp kind of pixelated. Seems to print ok. Any idea why this is happening? I use an EIZO monitor and in LR in the print module the image is nice and crisp.

Yep that did it! Auto crop was on indeed, one last question a lot of calendars are in the pdf format but Qimage gives me a error on these?
45  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: No Response on: November 14, 2018, 12:43:18 AM
I am trying to create a calendar on a 11x17 page and the photo at the top is fine however on the calendar itself Sat and Sun are cut off I tried dragging the handles but they are still missing. I opened up the calendar in my photo viewer and it looks good. The file is a jpg and is high quality 800K in size and can be resized in Lightroom.  Also is there a way to reset everything back to the beginning as I donít see a close command like other programs. I would also like to place a thin black border around the photo and the calendar but canít see where to do that?
