16  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Spacing of multiple images on one sheet... on: January 10, 2019, 07:48:40 PM

There is no way to move the image as the printable area is 8.0 and 4x6 against a 4 x 6 = 8.0 inches.
BUT the easiest way to do it, would be to apply a small border, either in color for design, or in white to be invisible.

OK on the border idea, thanks. Why is the printable area 8.0 on an 8.5 paper? Isn't there a way to configure QU to have less than a 1/4" border?

I didn't realize the printable area was limited to 8.0. If that's true, how are borderless prints made? (I have no intention of printing borderless - I'm just wondering)

See Screen snaps.

Thank you, Fred - I'll note that.

in QU it looks like if I turn on Borderless printing in the driver, I get a small white space around all of the prints

Thank you, George
18  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Spacing of multiple images on one sheet... on: December 08, 2018, 04:24:31 PM
I'm printing three 4x6 images on one 8.5 x 11 sheet. (Canon PRO-1000)

Under the Prints tab, I've chosen 4.00 x 6.00.

Under the Printers and Settings tab > Media size, I've chosen Letter 8.5 x 11.

How do I get at least a little spacing between the two parallel images to make trimming easier? When I print the page with the three images, there is still 1/4" at the paper edges so is there a way to nudge one or both images a little to create space between them?

I have tried all the print placement options but I don't see any choice that does what I want.
19  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Sharpening in Photoshop AND Qimage? on: September 13, 2018, 02:02:09 AM
Thank you, Mike. That makes sense to me. One more question, please:

I watched the video on DFS http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=AiVoXcB1uzk&vq=hd1080 and in the video the sharpening had radius and percentage controls. Does QU not have those anymore? I couldn't find them.

(Note: Edit > Preferences > Printing Options > Interpolation > Help - the Information dialog refers to Sharpening types "Smart" and "Normal" whereas the actual interface labels are "Smart" and "Static")

I use Photoshop CC, Qimage Ultimate, and a Canon PRO-1000.

If I use sharpening in Photoshop, is there any benefit to also using the sharpening in Qimage?
21  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Practical way to manage unclog job scheduling? on: August 21, 2018, 03:47:02 AM
I use Qimage Ultimate with my Canon PRO 1000. I have the unclog job scheduled for every 48 hours to avoid the 60-hour cleaning cycle. I turn the scheduler off when I'm going to be printing.

Given that I may use the printer daily for several days then not use it for several days, what is a practical habit to get into regarding turning the scheduler on and off without having to go into the Print Unclog Job Schedule dialog and change the date/time?

(If that question is not clear, here is an example:)

Let's say I used the printer yesterday and I might use it today. Then I find I am not going to use it today after all.

So I turn the scheduler on, but the unclog job isn't scheduled to run until after a 60-hour lapse in actual printing.

Then it appears I have to adjust the Date/time of first unclog cycle to make sure an unclog job runs before the 60 hours is up.
