I was recently given (birthday pressy) a Kenro Macro Ring Flash which has a Stroboscopic Mode. It's called 'Multi Mode'.
Can anyone tell me what the advantages are of using  this mode for macro and close-up photography. I've seen a YouTube video which demonstrates using it in a portrait  studio situation portrait but nothing for macro work.

The stroboscopic mode will allow you to fire multiple flashes for the set duration. It is useful in exposing the movement of the subject. Thus, you can capture the subject in motion in a single frame, without stitching multiple images. You can capture images of flying bat in sequence at night, movement of a bouncing ball, etc.
