Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Ultimate as a gift

That's your "problem" Mike, you are "just" too dedicated to your customers.
When you get around to it, Australia would welcome you with open arms and it is the best place on earth, and I say that as an adopted Australian.
Cheers
Daniel

Mike's Software / Profile Prism / Mike, New version of PP
|
on: January 25, 2010, 05:05:26 PM

Hi
having changed my monitor, printer and some of the papers I use, I need to update my profiles but I thought I would wait until a new version of PP was issued.
Any idea when that may be?
thanks
Daniel

David
I am running my LiDE80 in Virtual Box using a Vista x86 install hosted on a Vista 64 install.
It is very easy to set up and I save the scans to a USB key.
I found it easier than re profiling a scanner.
cheers

Technical Discussions / Computer Hardware / Using a LiDE scanner on a 64 bit Operation System
|
on: August 22, 2009, 04:07:49 AM

Hi
For those who have resisted changing to a 64 bit Operation System because Canon refused to write 64 bit drivers for the LiDE 20 - 80 scanners, (which I did for two years) there is a Virtual PC program that can be used to run the scanners.
The program is Virtual Box, it is brilliant, easy and very versatile, of course you need to have an OS to install but if you have a spare license then it is no problem.
regards
Daniel

Hi
I would not touch Olympus with a 10 Meter barge pole.
My C8080 will not focus on anything over 1000M away and they tell me "that's the way it is" of course it does not say anything about that in the documentation before you buy it.
Also as an indication of competence; a couple of years ago I went to the Sydney Photography exhibition and the Olympus kiosk had a demonstration of their Panorama stitching software and the picture had a massive and very obvious error in it, the staff were oblivious.
AND the address they quote on their correspondence is incorrect and does not exist in GPS or Street Directories... Go figure.
I would look elsewhere, which I will do when I have the time.
cheers
Daniel

Hi
has anyone D/L this in the last couple of hours, I cannot get through, I get a "not found" error.
When I run tracert I get "timed out" on the last 10 or so attempts.
If no one else is having any problems it must be my ISP.
Thanks
Daniel
