Fred If you set the driver to 'ICM' it will use the correct profile supplied by Epson for that paper (you have to set QI profile to 'Off'). The profiles are installed when you load the driver. It's the same as using No Color Adjustment and setting the Epson profile in QI, but obviously only works with Epson papers.

Technical Discussions / Printers / Re: Color problems with 2 printers

I think the problem is that you are not using ICC printer profiles. These are different for every printer and paper type combination, and sit between the computer and the printer and adjust the colours to give the same result. Most paper manufacturers supply profiles for their papers, or you can produce your own using something like an X-Rite Colormunki or Mike's Profile Prism software. The Canon profiles are available from https://www.canon.co.uk/printers/inkjet/pixma/professional_photo_printers/icc_profiles/#href-Support, as Bruce says it's unlikley that HP will supply a profile for Canon paper, but most third-party paper providers will. Set Color Matching to 'None' and add the correct profile in the 'Printers and settings' in QImage. Once you have set it up, save the setting as a printer setup file. HTH Brian

'Page' in QI is the printable area, ie paper size minus margins, so your readings are correct. You need the 'Borderless' option in the driver if you want to use the full area, it may help to turn 'Borderless Overspray' off in Edit>Preferences>Print and Page Formatting.

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Problem with Print sizing in Qimage Ultimate

But in a previous topic, if I set "Fit to page", I get a larger print that consumes 4 sheets of paper.
Someone needs to look at this in Qimage Ultimate.
This is normal expected behavior. 'Fit to Paper' expands the image to include the printer margins, which will be printed as separate slivers on four extra pages. 'Fit to Paper' is not designed for your use, it's an extremely useful feature for printing photos with white borders centrally on printers with un-even borders. In your case, only use 'Fit To Page'. If you are using a non-standard print size, most printers will not allow borderless printing, so the margins will always be there. Brian

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Automatically Print and Position Captions from Metadata??

Paul The 'Template' function in QI will do exactly what you want. You add the blank 'Template' image which is at the end of the thumbnails to the page, then add your caption using 'Floating Text' in the 'Edit' page, and save it as a 'Layout'. You call up thelayout/template using the 'Custom' option on the 'Prints' tab then drag as many photos as you require onto it. I'm not an expert on templates but there are people here who are Brian

Mike I would prefer them on the Prints tab as that's what I have open most of the time with the new layout, and I would only use the Printers tab to check that I've loaded the right settings at the start of a printing session. This is just my thought at the moment, others may work differently and it may change with time.
Brian
I've just had a thought, perhaps you could put a 'Show More Info' button on both pages. B
