1  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate Wish List / Re: Number of Prints Indicator on: June 17, 2023, 02:21:51 AM
Thanks Mike, looking forward to it
2  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate Wish List / Number of Prints Indicator on: June 16, 2023, 04:08:36 AM
Hi,

I was wondering if there is a feature that has an indicator (example: the thumbnail '+' in blue could be red) or displays the number of prints (like on the thumbnail) or if a print has been added into the queue more than once.

I had an incident where I had 79 images to print, and the print queue showed a total of 80 images. I couldn't pinpoint the 'duplicate' image and had a tough time going through the entire live view figuring which was the duplicate.

Thanks!

Yes, I copied the folder with the images that has the black bar issues, renamed it and the issue in the copied folders did not reoccur. I will try the 'rebuild thumbs/raw' if the issue reoccurs. I've already deleted the previous folder with the black bar issue.

Thanks Mike

Hi Mike,

Can I email over the file instead? They're blurred because those image files do not belong to me, but a client.

PS. I manage to create a duplicate folder and used the images in there with no issues. It seems to be an issue only with that folder, replacing the images in the folder didn't seem to work either.
5  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Black bar on images on: November 25, 2022, 01:36:37 AM
Need some help on this. I am seeing black bars on some of the images. I've checked and they look fine in windows explorer. I've already tried removing and replacing the images again from the original source, and I've updated Qimage to the latest release.

Image attached, I've highlighted the parts in red. Any idea on what the issue is and how to rectify them?

Thanks
6  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Qimage 'randomly' Rotated all my images!! on: November 30, 2018, 03:16:52 AM
I use Qimage to print hundreds, sometimes thousands of prints a month. It's really a great software, but today I encountered a really frustrating issue. To minimise paper wastage, today I placed all 100+ images on the canvas(?), rotating to fit nicely with minimal paper waste (I print on 24" wide paper). I then double click on an image to edit (on the canvas?) and adjusted the brightness, selected 'Apply Filter to ALL Images in the Queue'.

Qimage then proceeded to brighten all the images in the queue, which is what I wanted, but also rotated the images in what seems like random rotations and messed up my entire placement of the images.

Is there a fix in settings to avoid this issue?

Thanks

OOps, found it, it was under the Borders, by clicking on the little number. Smiley

Hi guys,

Might seem like a silly question. I checked the 'Mark Edges' option in the settings tab, and according to the help files, the color of border is based on "prints in the color currently chosen for "border".". I am looking for the border option, and I can't seem to locate it. I would like to change the border color to red.

Thanks!

I saved the job data under another drive in my PC
One other point to remember is that when you do migrate the Program Data to another drive, a copy is left in the original location on C-Drive. If you accidently browse to that at a later date, it will seem that items are missing.
Terry

Hey Terry,
I don't think I actually migrated the data over, I think I had initially set it to another drive in my PC when I first installed QU.

Fred, yup, not too sure what happened, might have been an issue with my PC, never had an issue with all the updates previously.

Thanks again guys!

Hey guys,

I found out the reason why! I saved the job data under another drive in my PC (when I first installed QU several years ago). I'm not too sure why the recent update or maybe an update on my PC caused QU to revert back to locating my saved jobs under the default QImage save folder.

Thanks Fred, Terry for all your help, and MelW for suggesting that it might have been in another folder which got me thinking I might have saved it elsewhere instead!

Hey guys,

Thanks for the info. I'm not too sure what happened, all my saved jobs under the 'save' folder of the program data under qimage are gone! When I click on the recall button, all my previously saved jobs are gone! (see image1)

But the strange thing is that when I click on the 'go to job log folder' (highlighted in the red box, see image2), all my job logs appeared, all the way from 2013, and I can recall the jobs when I click on them. The file/job names however are not the names I saved them as. So the job, I assume exists somewhere, I just can't recall them under the 'save' folder, nor the name I saved them with.

Thanks
JL

Hey guys,

After the recent update (or rather the one before v2017.108), my saved settings and jobs are missing or it won't open from the same location, not too sure which. In any case, I can't seem to recall any of my previous saved jobs. I clicked on the 'go to the job log folder' icon next to the recall 'Look in: / search bar' and I can see the previous jobs, but not saved as the names I saved them as. How do I locate the saved jobs that were previously saved?

[added] also i just tried saving a new job, a warning came out (as attached)

Thanks

Also, I forgot to mention, you asked in the video. I use original size mainly because I print on 24" wide papers, would usually run print jobs for many different clients with many different sizes in a single print job.

Thanks for your help Fred.

PS: you might be able to replicate the issue as mentioned in my earlier post by selecting 'original size'
14  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Border Properties Resetting back to 0.00 on: May 25, 2016, 01:54:01 AM
Hi Fred,

I realise what and when the issue would occur.

I tested it by using the default sizes on the print properties, selecting, for example 2x3 inches. I set the border to 0.02, did the image rotation, removed images and so on, worked perfectly fine, border properties remained the same.

The problem occurred when I use 'original size'. Can you try that on your side? I realise you used one of the default size (2x3) in your video, the problem may only be isolated when 'original size' is selected.

Thanks
JL
15  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Border Properties Resetting back to 0.00 on: May 24, 2016, 03:57:16 AM
Hi Fred,

I've also noticed it happening not only after image rotation.

1) Set the border properties to 0.02 (as shown in the video)
2) Add several of images, I've tried adding images of similar sizes, different sizes  (all the borders appear as should with the 0.02 border size)
3) Remove one of the images from the 'canvas' by clicking on the bottom right red remove icon
4) Tried adding any image - the border resets back to 0.

Thanks
