31  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Economical Roll Printing - How to stop wasting paper on: July 31, 2018, 02:12:03 PM
Ummmm... I have a feeling it changes the page size for all the pages to be the same size.... though Without trying it I'm not 100% sure.
I tend to print one page at a time unless it's lots of the exact same image so I've never needed to know!
32  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Economical Roll Printing - How to stop wasting paper on: July 31, 2018, 12:42:00 PM
Its already there...
Right click on an empty part of the page and then select 'Set Paper Lenght (Trim White Space At Bottom)' or keyboard shortcut Ctrl-W

I always print on a roll and use it all the time... its one of the features that make qimage so good!
33  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate Wish List / Metric / Imperial Toolbar Button on: July 26, 2018, 08:59:07 AM
Hello,
Here in the UK we seem to sometimes use metric (the official system) and sometimes imperial (the old system) - like all our road signs are in miles and beer is sold in pints but Petrol (Gas) is sold in litres! So I find myself switching constantly from metric to imperial measurements and back again.
I even find myself sizing say a 10"x8" image and then adding a 10mm border!

What would be really handy for me is a button or switch on the toolbar so I could quickly switch between metric and imperial measurements which would also give a quick visual reference as to which measurement system I'm currently using. The button/switch could change colour depending on which system is being used.

And/or a keyboard shortcut - an F key maybe or Ctrl + a key.

Many thanks
John

I've been using Canon printers along with Qimage for years now, always with great results. Just let Qimage do its thing - no need to use the Canon print Preview! Smiley

Hello
Has the Freehand on/off button at the top right of the page gone or moved?
I cant see how to turn freehand placement off without it.

Thanks
John
37  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate Wish List / Re: File info - size on: May 27, 2017, 05:05:12 PM
Yes, very much the print size.... In mm or inch depending on what I happen to be working in.

My point is that I might print 20 images all different sizes. what would be great is that along with the file name the 'print' size was there as well. This would save me so much time not having to get a rule out measure the image and write it down on a piece of paper.... 20 times!

There wouldn't be much point in typing in the sizes as text, that will take too much time... It needs to be automatic!
It's purely for my information and not part of the image.
38  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate Wish List / File info - size on: May 27, 2017, 10:59:14 AM
Hello,
Something that would be a really big help to me is to be able to have the option to print in the file info the image size mm or inch depending on which is being used. Possibly with the option of the file name as well.

So Like -
img 300x400mm
or
filename.jpg - img 300x400mm

or even if there is a border then something like -
300x400mm - inc. border 310x410mm

This is because I quite often print several images all varying in size ready to be mounted (aka matted) and find that I have to measure each one which is quite time-consuming.

Thanks

Hi Mike,
yes, you're right...
I've just tried and indeed if the shrink compensation is set before the paper length is set then it takes into account the extra %

but not if it's set after... which is how I've been doing it. Maybe I need to change my workflow Smiley
40  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate Wish List / Re: Automatically Change page size to Accommodate Canvas Shrink Compensation on: May 11, 2017, 09:04:05 AM
Hello Terry,
Absolutely! Which is my point...

I crop the page size to fit the image using 'set paper length' (ctrl-w) and then go to print - But - because I have the Canvas Shrink Compensation set to accommodate the shrinkage QI gives me an error saying that I need to increase the size of the page to accommodate the bigger size of the image... (see attachment)

I then have to manually adjust the size of the page - which I usually add on half an inch - which is just a guess but quick.

My suggestion is that QI automatically adds the extra on to the page length to accommodate the bigger image size rather than just telling me that I need to.
41  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate Wish List / Automatically Change page size to Accommodate Canvas Shrink Compensation on: May 10, 2017, 04:26:44 PM
Hello
When printing on canvas roll and cropping the paper length it would be great if Qimage automatically set paper length longer to accommodate the extra shrink compensation % needed.

hope that makes sense!
Thanks

43  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate Wish List / Re: Keyboard shortcut for switching Inch&Millimeter on: February 23, 2017, 12:41:39 PM
yes please - even better for me would be a inch/mm button on the toolbar that indicated which was currently being used
44  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Refresh folder view? is there a way? on: February 23, 2017, 12:38:26 PM
Hello,
Is there a way to refresh the folder view?
If I create a new folder while Qimage is open the only way I can see to get the folder view to refresh and the new folder to appear is to restart Qimage.
And I quite often use photoshop working on and saving edits while having Qimage open at the same time.
If i save a file I have to navigate away from the folder and back again for it to refresh and the file appear.

is there a built in way to refresh the folder view?

thanks Fred...
I'll see how it goes

Cheers
