18  Technical Discussions / Printers / How to turn off Canon ij Preview printing HELP!!! on: December 03, 2018, 09:38:51 AM
Hi, I have a Canon iX model printer and a Canon Lide scanner, Use Qimage to print but everytime I click print up pops a Canon menu IJ Preview Printing and more it's an annoying thing to keep happening, looked online and seems I am not the only one with this problem however I cannot see an option to disable it and looking in the add/remove options on Win 10 there is nothing there to show it is even installed. Any Canon experts can help please? Thankyou. Russ.

One thing I can suggest is trying every USB port on your machine.  My ColorMunkli Photo is sensitive to which USB port is being used.  Mine won't even power up unless I plug it into a USB 2.0 port and it actually seems to like the aux port on the back of my keyboard best.  I can tell it has something to do with power levels: the ColorMunki seems to draw a lot of power and I surmised that maybe some ports can't supply the amperage needed.  I know Jose Rodriguez had the red indicator problem in one of his videos recently and fixed it.  You might also want to ask him on his Facebook group because I don't know what solution he came up with:

Thankyou Mike have messaged JR and wait reply. Russ.

Hi, Anyone advise please?. Recently changed my computer for a faster system along with a newer branded printer (from Epson to Canon), computer previously Win7 64 bit this one Win 10 64, updated Graphs Card. I profiled my printer to a number of papers in Win 7 but now after attempting two differant papers the colourmunki keeps showing a RED line on the first strip ( I did manage to get it to run correctly on strips 1 and 2 but then again on 3 it showed a RED line then would not see line 1 again), changed the USB to Colourmunki cable but still the same, I also profiled my monitor and worked fine. Thankyou, Russ.

So my Epson R1900 has gone to printer heaven and I have a Canon ix6850, not the best printer from Canon but what I could afford at this time. I do have the ColorMunki Photo so can make my own profiles and have a lot of Epson paper so the question will profiles work Epson on Canon please? Thankyou, Russ
Oh yes I only print for myself and fun.

Hi, Thankyou for the reply. As I use Affinity Photo now I posted your reply on there forum after asking the why question!!! There response is as follows
'Hi Russ,
Not all plugins will work because Affinity Photo doesn't support all features/functionality provided by Photoshop/Photoshop SDK. Currently Affinity Photo only supports basic image filters (.8bf). Anything relying on automation (or other types of plugins) are not supported. I have not tested Qimage Ultimate personally but i will take a look at it. If there's a chance to make it work in Affinity i'm sure the developers will consider to take a look.'

So I again stated 'Yes understand that but the reply from Mike at Qimage is not a good advert for AP ' we've reached out to Affinity Photo about the possibility of working with them to make a plugin for Qimage.  We have not gotten a response. '

so again there reply after I posted that 'Hi Russ,
I don't know to which address they have sent the e-mail nor what may have happened. I have checked their webpage and this plugin does seem to require automation. '

As I am not tech minded not sure what is ment by  this plugin does seem to require automation.

Thankyou,
Russ.
26  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Other Host Software? on: August 07, 2018, 07:09:44 AM
Hi, I have now placed P/S CS6 into retirment but still use L/R 6 but also gone over to Affinity Photo (Windows) and just wondered if there are any plans to make QI available for other software like Affinity Photo? There are thousands of users of Affinity Photo out there that have done the same and it would be a new market for QI. Thankyou, Russ.
27  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Unglog Pattern Problem. on: April 02, 2018, 12:00:44 PM
Hi Fred, Hope you are ggod?. The images that I placed in the posting are from QI itself not printed images, that is what they look like when I place one in the Q for printing.
Used the snipping tool from Windows to capture the images.
Here is another image just I hope to see that this is what QI is showing before I press the print button.
I notice that the Sweep Pattern is also changed from the prtevious version? before it was just diagonal lines now it is like a triangle shape.
The settings where not changed in the printers from the last two weekly unglog pattern print out on the previous version of QI.
Thanks, Russ
28  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Unglog Pattern Problem. on: April 02, 2018, 11:03:44 AM
Hi, I have the latest QI installed 2018.116 and have two printers Canon ix6850 anf Epson R1900.
Now before when I used the unglog pattern on both printers I got a clean pattern but now the pattern that shows up in QI when Q up the image for printing looks like as in the the attached image (I Hope) and prints out on both printers the same so I no it is not the printers at fault. Thankyou, Russ.

Hi, OK Fred I no you answer here regular so that is why I am posting tghis here.
Received an email today offering a software called Qimage One but as as far as I can see it has nothing to do with Qimage from Mike? Maybe I am wrong and missing something but if not seems to me to an improper use use of the Qimage name? Thanks Russ.

Forgive any typos as I left my glasses in the bedroom.

Qimage One is a new program written by our own Mike Chaney in cahoots with another pretty smart guy named Andrew. He can be addressed as AWOLFORD on the forum.

The object of Qimage One (or Q-1) was to accomplish two goals; create a Qimage quality printing program that was easier to use, and to have it run on an Apple/Macintosh computer.
People that want to work their images in their editor of choice and then want to PRINT with excellence.

OK, Thankyou for that advice. Russ

It will be improved with extra features as requests roll in and needs arise.

The main point at this time is that the QUALITY of the prints through the Fusion interpolator is still number one on the planet.

Hope this sheds some light.

Fred
