Technical Discussions / Printers / Canon ix6550 and Kodak Satin Paper
on: May 25, 2015, 09:01:49 AM
Hi, After my Epson 1400 gave up on printing, the Cyan (everything else works fine) I wanted an affordable (On a pension) A3 printer so I bought a Canon ix6550 and I have some A4 Kodak Premium Picture Paper SATIN, A4 Ilford pearl and of course loads of A3 and A4 Epson premium Glossy, can anyone please say what setting I should use with the Qimage software as the papers are not Canon branded? I have searched for an icc profile without success so am thinking because it is not a pro printer they do not exist. I only print for my own pleasure in house so to speak. Many Thanks Russ

Hi, I have never used an HP printer always Epson or Canon. Where I live now HP printers seem to be the more available brand so can anyone or would anyone give me some feedback on A3 HP printers as far as printed photographs go? Prints are for personal use not saleable prints Many Thanks Russ

Mike's Software / Qimage / Print Properties Inch/mm?
on: November 22, 2013, 11:59:11 AM
Hi, Just started using Qimage and would ask is it possible to change the media output size in the Print Properties so I can choose it in cm rather than inches, for example 4X6 inch is 10X16 cm and as we no some idiot in the European area decided that we all have use metric after using imperial for the first 50 years of my life!! Thanks Russ

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / HELP!! Un-install/Install problem
on: November 21, 2013, 08:36:35 PM

Hi, I have the trial version on a windows Comp with win 7 64bit. Purchased the full version a moment ago but the trial version will not let me UN-install it I get the message 'Could not open INSTALL.LOG file' Not wanting two versions of the program on my disc really, any advice please? Thanks Russ
i, Fixed it, just in-case it happens to anyone else do the following. 1. Open the directory where the program is installed. 2. You will see a file named “Install.log” in there. 3. Move (cut and paste somewhere else) the “install.log” to say an empty new folder in desktop (first create a new folder and then paste the install.log into it). 4. Now, double click the un-installer (uninstall.exe or unwise.exe) 5. It will ask you to open the installation log. Locate to the “install.log” file on your desktop. 6. Now, uninstall will work fine and you can un-install the program.

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Hi, New Here!!!

Hi, New here but there does not seem to be a place to say hello in the forum, I am from the UK but live in Greece, in my 60's so maybe missed a hello part of the forum? Anyways I am a Lightroom fan and have L/R 5 but by no means an expert. Rather than keep placing images on the web and see them disappear into that big whole never to be seen again I have decided to give printing a go, now I no that the printer I have is not a super duper up to date bells and whistles one (Epson stylus photo R1400) but we have what we have. Anyway I am considering the purchase of Qimage Ultimate as it is at a good price at the moment but need a little push. I have searched the web for information about Qimage versus Lightroom but have found very little as far as L/R 5 goes as a comparison all seems to be versus earlier version of L/R so anyone would like to sell Qimage to me as a printing option against L/R 5 print module. My main interest is Land/Seascape and I am only an amateur or hobbyist if you like so prints are only really for me and anyone who happens to visit my computer room. Many Thanks in advance for any replies. Russ
