Hi, Now I am just curious here as I have Qimage Ultimate already but  are there any benifits of having a RIP software to work along side Qimage when just printing for your own personl satisfaction at home?
As I say just cutiosity question as doing some research and looking at the prices for RIP software I don't think the boss would go for it!!!!

Hi, Just putting this out there.
Had a problem with printing panos on my Epson R1900 and     Fred A bent over backwartds to help me out, even making a special video for an explaination.
What a Great guy, so helpful.

Hi, well tried it all and after one box of paper came to this.
Got to be doing something wrong but cannot see it.
Tried putting in 400x800, 800x400, 4x8, 8x4.
Ticked the crop box as if I don't it asks if I want the image in two parts.

What puts me off is on that page of user define at the bottom under units Epson use the (.)

Hi, Sorry still struggling with this.
My printer R1900.
Paper for testing, Epson 100mm (approx 4") x 10mtr.
I tried to follow this part under user defined in the printer driver setup 'Set your page dimensions to User Defined Roll paper banner mode at 8.4' but the printer/system tells me that to put the dot (.) ie 3.5 is not an acceptable character so if I just put in 4   it changes to 800  when I tap or use the Tab key to go into the Height box and yes I have the Unit box set for inches. (I maybe a Brit but I am still an old one and can work Feet and Inches faster than the stupid metric system)
I did try to print an image on the paper via Qimage and I followed what I no are the correct instructions to do it (video on youtube) but all I got was an image approx 1" wide not 3.5 X 24" long.
If I keep going with guess work I'll have a bin full of wasted photo paper so thank you for anymore advice that may come forward.

Hi, I do not print a great deal even though I have Qimage, found it easier for setting up to print single images than Lightroom. Anyways is there a template available to print a panorama on an Epson Photo R1900? I only have the one roll of Epson paper (8.3" x 32.8') to try printing panoramas and don't to be honest want to stumble along and waste paper as I go.
Once I get the hang of it as I understand it I can increase the paper up to 13".

Hi, I have an Epson R1900 and want to print Landscape and Portrait images can someone please advise on a paper ie, Gloss,Satin etc etc that would give good results for both. I bought some A3 paper but only 200GSM and it is to me just thin and no rigidity at all.
So for the R1900 should I be looking at at paper/s in the 280/300 GSM mark?
Please note I do live in Europe so papers like RedRiver are not available to me and the Epson papers are to expensive when you are on a pension

Hi, After watching a tutorial on settings and it was stated that 360 PPI should be set in the 'Prints and Posters' window for Epson printers I followed along but when I change from the 720 to 320 Qimage states that 'settings may not be optimal' so should I just leave the setting at the 720 PPI option?

Hi, Sorry but another question.
After deciding to go for a CISS for the R1900 I have found some that come with Pigment ink and some that come with Dye ink and from my searching many have stated that Dye ink should NOT be used because the R1900 was really made for Pigment ink.
As I have stated in a previous posting I am only wanting as an amateur to print for myself but don't want to muck up what is for me a new printer by useing the wrong option for ink.
I cannot see why the ink companies would give the option on the two kinds of ink if they could not be used in this printer, hence the confused!!!

Hi, Firstly many thanks for such a quick reply.
The system I have been looking at is not far of as the price goes USA to UK and the company seem to have a good following on there inks.
Not so easy to find systems and Dye inks sold together now all seem to push the Pigment ink (more expensive!!)
One last question, Do you use Dye ink or Pigment Ink? OK found the article on this.

Hi, cannot beleive it but the person I thought I had purchased a Canon 6550 has come up with an excuse that it has got lost in transit and has refunded my money in full but I think they under estimated the transit costs to Greece, maybe wrong! but at least I got the money back. Anyway I have now I hope purchased a new Epson R1900 and I beleive someone here uses that model? on reading about the R1900 it seems to use a lot of ink from small carts so I am thinking CISS but again as an amateur on a pension with the need to wear glasses I do not want to spend £100+ on a CISS but then I don't want to sell the printer short by using bad ink and CISS. I tried once before re-filling carts but made such a mess gave it up.
Any suggestions please on a CISS remembering I live in Europe although purchases from the USA are not out of the question when it comes to an empty CISS.
