Yeah AI sharpening and interpolation can do some weird unexpected things sometimes. I too prefer a data driven approach where you enhance existing detail rather than making up new detail.

So, the detail enhancement of unsharp masking but without the halo artifacts! Looks good. In many/most cases I'm unhappy with AI efforts at sharpening and prefer this approach.

Thanks Mike. If I reinstall the driver will it synchronize the 64 and 32 bit drivers? Will I lose the custom paper types and ICC profiles that I had created with the printer? When you say "clear the custom media types" do you mean copy them out of the color directory and put them back after the reinstall or do you mean that I would have to delete them with my HP Utility preset manager and re-create these profiles with my printer again? I don't know how the Z3200 handles custom paper types. You might need to google how to reinstall them. Enough people have had problems with custom media types disappearing that there are probably posts that address the issue. Regards, Mike |

That's a good suggestion. I'll let you know what happens. Hopefully I wont see that problem for a while.

If I could get my hands on a 32bit driver would that solve my issue? I am running W11 You already have the 32 bit driver: all drivers install both a 32 bit and 64 bit version when you install the driver. The drivers are identical except for one being 32 bit code and the other being 64 bit code. Mike |
