I will be traveling soon for 3 months. I have been trying to get the uclog utility working on my Epson P900 reliably before I go so I know I won't have issues while I am away. It prints a full page sometimes for 2 or 3 days and then goes to half page sometimes. This is not confidence inspiring. I need to know that this is working properly before I leave in 2 weeks. What should I do?

That's not a setting that is controllable by Qimage.  You have to control that in the operating system/spooler.  Qimage can put a pause between pages (that option is under Edit, Preferences, Printing Options) but if you're talking about large files on one page/roll, that's controlled by Windows settings.

If you go to Printers and scanners, click on your printer, and then choose printer properties, you'll get this dialog where you can click on the Advanced tab up top.  That'll give you the attached window where you can change how the printer receives data.

Regards,
Mike

I am having trouble printing large files, because all the information does not get to the printer, so it stops the project.  The Printer Tech suggested that I set the print job to not start printing until the printer had received all the information.  Is there a place in Qimage where I can change that setting?
TIA

Thanks, Mike.  I kinda guessed that would be how it would work, but figured I’d check.  I did check out the video, but, apparently, it was made before you added cycle #1, cycle#2, etc

Think of it like a bus schedule.  Up top in the global settings (date and repeat) you are specifying how often the bus stops at the bus stop.  Down below in the per-job cycle tuning, you click on each job and specify the first time each job takes the bus and how often.  So set it like this...

Print all listed jobs (below) at the above date/time and then repeat every (The "bus schedule: how often the bus stops at the bus stop):
1 day, 0 hours.

Then on your two jobs, set the per-job cycle tuning as follows by clicking on the job and then setting.

Per-job cycle tuning (When each job gets on the bus and how often):
Job 1:
Print on: 1st cycle
Then: Every 2 days

Job 2:
Print on: 2nd cycle
Then: Every 2 days

That way the bus stops at the bus stop every day (it has to in order to meet your requirements) and both jobs get on every 2 days, but job 1 starts on the 1st cycle so 1, 3, 5, 7... and job 2 waits until the second cycle to start so 2, 4, 6, 8....

Mike

I have a Canon Pro-1000.  I would like to print a 1/2 page unclog everyday, since I understand this will avoid Canon’s wasteful nozzle cleaning.  Since I really need two jobs, one glossy for gloss black and one plain for matte black, I would like to have the gloss print one day and the matte the next, etc, etc.  how can I set this up?

Mike,

Thanks for the reply.   I understand that the default cropping is ON.   But when I switch it to OFF, *and* use "This is the paper border", the prints are properly bordered.
But the next time I bring up that dialog (e.g. to check later in a long session that I haven't changed anything), cropping is set to ON.

I think you're telling me this is the way it is supposed to work.
So I just have to be careful that whenever I bring up that dialog, I change it back to what I want.

You may need to link a screencast video or something that shows what you are doing because everything seems fine in that area.  The only thing that would prevent you from dragging prints is if dragging is impossible due to the print taking up the entire page (printable area) so it is already in the one and only position it can be located.

Mike

I'm a long term (happy) used of Qimage Ultimate. Hit a snag this morning...

Images will not resize or drag into position in page editor. I have tried...
... Making sure the mouse will drag other windows - no problem.
... Resetting the machine
... Loading latest version of Qimage
... resizing by dragging corners
... changing to freehand placement

none of these work.  Changing the size and location on the location tab works fine.

What am I doing wrong?

Roy
