Can you send a screenshot showing the border settings and Live View? Does this show up on the print?

No, everything gets converted to 8-bit internally.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for letting us know! By the way, I saw you requested a change to your registered email. We can do that, no problem, but the last registration email we sent bounced because your mail box was full. I just wanted to let you know in case that was the reason you were requesting the change.

Hi Dave,

Qimage One v2020.106 released May 18, 2020 includes a fix for this problem. You can update through the application itself, or by entering your email address on the Update page:

https://www.binartem.com/updates/

Please let us know if everything looks okay after installing this version.

Portrait would mean as viewed in the default orientation with respect to the printer (usually tall and narrow), while landscape would be the opposite. For roll paper, it is possible to print portrait where the width is wider then the height of the print, as you show here.

All you need to do is look at the line of dashes along the edge of the paper on the Live View. This shows where the roll will be cut and gives a clear indication of how the print will come out of the printer.

The list of paper sizes displayed in Q1 is provided by the driver. Are you sure there is no option for US Letter, Letter, or 8.5 x 11 "?

If I understand correctly, you have an image sized to 8.5 x 11 " with a .125 " bleed so you want to trick the printer into thinking it is printing on 8.625 x 11.125 " paper but the media you feed will be US letter size?

You are correct that a print can not be placed within the margin (gray area) on the Live View. The page size (printable area) may be different to the paper size.

You should select the Custom media size and set it 8.625 x 11.125 ". Then click on the Properties button to open the driver. Click on the Paper Size drop down and select Manage Custom Sizes. Click on the Qimage One Custom size and set all the margins to 0. Click OK and OK again.

You will now have a borderless 8.625 x 11.125 " page. Select your thumbnail and from the list of Print Sizes select either Original or Fit to Page. They should both do the same thing if the image is sized as described.

Hi Rob,

I have been doing some research and here is what I know so far:

This issue seems to be happening with several Epson drivers. The problem seems to be that Qimage One is setting values in the driver and not all of them are being respected when the driver is opened by the operating system. Media type primarily being the problem one.

I donít yet have a solution, but there is a workaround which you can try. This only seems to happen when you have not yet selected a validated media type. For example, if you click Properties, and find the media type is incorrect, select it in the driver and select OK. Subsequent selections of the media type in Qimage One do appear to be respected when the driver is re-opened.

There is a secondary problem where some Epson drivers have the same media type name repeated internally, but display only one in the driver dialog. This creates a problem because the duplicated names have unique numeric IDs. Itís possible that Qimage One picks the first Plain Paper which might have index 0 and the driver picks Plain Paper index 78. This creates a disconnect between the two.

I am working on a solution to this which would involve listing all media types (including duplicates) with a name decoration to show that they are duplicates). At least this way it should be possible for the media selected in the driver to be updated in Qimage One.

I will keep you updated on my progress.

10  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: QIMAGE ULTIMATE & ADOBE PS on: April 17, 2018, 03:12:07 AM
Hi Tom,

The baseline support for the Qimage One Adobe Plugin is Photoshop CS4 and Lightroom 5. If you have those versions, or newer, then it should work. You might need to run the installer again, or update the product, so that it can detect and update the plugins to the new Adobe versions you have installed.

The Qimage One Adobe Plugin will only work with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. You can use the Edit With option in some versions of Capture One Pro, to send the exported image to Qimage One. Affinity Photo does not provide that option. Since we have to rely on what features they expose to third party developers, we have not yet been able to design a plugin which will export images directly to Qimage One.

Hi Andre,

Do you see the 1/2 inch white border top and bottom on the Live View and in the preview? If you are trying to print an image borderless it is essential that you turn auto-cropping ON by clicking on the scissors icon. This will make the image exactly fit the print size, which in this case is fit to page/fit to paper.
