Problem resolved but not fixed... canons  C-RAW  not compatible. shoot Raw no problem or convert to TIFF all Canon DSLRs and 1DX MIII  and newer have this format..

You can thank Canon for that: needlessly making another new raw format and not documenting it.  Fortunately Qimage supports almost all CR3 raws.  The only camera model I know that has a problem is the R5.  All others that I've tested, even the newer models like the R7, work fine.  I don't (Qimage doesn't) support raw files: LibRaw does.  So whenever they make improvements in LibRaw, they will make their way to Qimage and I suppose they will eventually fix the R5 compatibility.
