I'm a bit puzzled about corner marks and crop marks irt matts. Obviously, I don't fully understand the difference between crop marks and corner marks, when using a photo matt.
I use an image and have a white inner border for that image of 5 mm. When I turn any sort of cut mark to "on", I can see and print them. So far, so good.
Now I add a matt to this image with an oneven border of 200 mm on the left side (in order to punch holes there for a binding wire). Now only corner marks on the left side of the matt are visible (in the preview) and printable. Corner marks on the right hand side disappeared. The same is true for solid line, dashed line.
However, when I swith to guide lines, guide borders or crop marks, they all are visible and printable.
What am I missing here?

It sounds like what you are seeing is that the corner marks may be obscured by the image being printed. See attached.
In the attached, the corner marks are visible on the left (mat side) because the mat is white. The black corner marks appear to be missing on the right BUT they are not: they are there but with the image being dark on that side, they are hard to see.
To solve this, you could just switch the color of the corner marks to something like red or another color that doesn't match the corners of the image being printed (click on the small color square to the right of the cut marks dropdown). Or as you found out, use an option like crop marks that extends away from the edge of the prints so you can easily distinguish them from the prints themselves.

No idea. Why don't you post a screenshot? I can't tell without seeing what you are talking about: show me the screen where you say you can see them on one side and not the other. Mike |

Hmm. I'm not seeing the same thing but my only guess is the preview of corner marks that are technically right at the edge of prints might be hampered by the fact that there are three objects in essentially the same location: print, border, and mat.
Instead of mixing borders and mats, try removing the border and doing it all in one white mat: use a mat that is, for example, 200mm on the left side and 5mm on the other three sides. See if that previews OK. That's the simpler, more direct way of doing this anyway.

By the way: thank you also for the very instructive video on saving printer settings. Was not aware of this feature but will use it a lot.
