I'm trying to create a cutout for a shoot we are doing that uses vignette but also has white text and graphic elements in the tiff (Merry Christmas and snowflakes). The vignette works fine but the text/graphic turns to black. Seems like I can create a cutout with white text/graphic elements or one with straight vignette but can't combine the two. I've tried different shades (RGB values) of white but just can't get it to happen. Anyone run into this and have a work around?

Thanks!

Hi Dave,
I passed your question on to Terry, our expert in that department

He should be on here soon.

The only way I can think of at present is to apply the vignette on the image as a filter and use the Signature/Copyright feature for the text. The latter is a print feature and not part of the image.
I did some posts about signatures here:
http://ddisoftware.com/tech/qimage-ultimate/logo-on-a-picture-like-a-signature/
My samples and instructions are here too:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B-mKaCc7lKcjek1tTXNkOTQ4YW8
There is information in QU Help too.
See attached screen shot of a simple example with a vignette, red text bottom right.

Follow up.
I made a "signature" from your image by creating a mask for it. It's not perfect (vertical line on LHS!) but it's nearly there.
See attached screen shot.
EDIT - made a better job of the mask etc.
See revised attached.

Thanks, I got the cutout, and the signature to work together, however, I also use an infostamp for the filename so we can track/associate the prints to customer. The issue now is that the infostamp uses the name of the signature tiff rather than the actual filename. Is this a bug?  To be clear i'm using a print filter for the infostamp.

I switched it from a print to a global filter and now uses the filename.  Grin

I checked this out by printing to file and repeated the problem
I'll report to Mike.

Thanks, glad I was able to work around this. Saved me $150 since I don't have to purchase printRipper or Breeze HFP.

You are learning there's not much QU cannot do, especially wrt printing and with special editing features. It is, believe THE printing software.

The use of a info stamp print filter with a copyright/signature has now been sorted out with v2017.110, see:-
