We talked earlier about the new feature (making print files to bring to an outside printing source and having your prints made for you with top quality) in 123.

But how about this thought?
I'm sure you have a few friends like I have who have large format printers. Mine is 13" wide, and Terry's is 8.5" wide.
I have a friend with a 3800, another with a 4800, and another with a 9800.

Suppose I made a Print to file and gave the file to my friend.... for printing LARGE!
I could easily create a 30" x 40" (762 x 1016 mm), or 17" x 22" (431 x 558.8 mm) or 16 x 20" (406.4 x 508 mm)  file in 30 seconds.
(Terry made me use mms too)

If you clicked the ADOBE button when you create the file, then we need not be overly concerned whether your friend has a profile for his paper or not.
I have one professional photographer friend that buys special bulk paper and uses Qimage and a special printer profile.
We do not have access to that, so the Adobe RGB will work just fine.

If your friend prints with Qimage Ultimate, then he must remember to turn off Smart Sharpen before printing, all other settings the same.
Remember, Smart Sharpen has already been used to create the file, so we don't want it twice.
If your friend does not use Qimage, then he just prints the file as he would any other image.

Terry is going to send me a ready to print file. I will ask a friend to print it large.
Then I will mail it to Terry back in England in a photo tube.

Some thoughts?

Fred
