Using Camera Profiles for RAW
«
on:
February 14, 2011, 02:16:13 AM »
I just read a post on the Qimage forum and realized that my program 'profile folder' is empty.
do I just ask Mike to send my cameras profile and how do I implement it when I get it?
Does the program automatically utilize it once it recognizes the exif data from a file, or is there a place I have to set it in the program preferance settings?
NEVERMIND!!!!
I just found my answer on yet another thread below , DOH

Yes you need to request a profile, but as I just found out yesterday from Mike, they are not free, and they have to be ordered through the online store. A little confusing but they are here ...

They are free for Ultimate owners, the page link you have given is for Studio owners.
Send an e-mail to
mchaney@ddisoftware.com
with "Qimage Ultimate Request for Profiles" as the subject line.
make sure you use your QU registered e-mail address and add it to the text of the e-mail.

They are only free for owners of Studio who now buy Ultimate. Instructions are outlined on the purchase page:
http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage-u/purchase.htm
and also the FAQ:

Mike,
As an Ultimate user I have started experimenting with RAW because I like how DCRAW "develops" RAW files. My question is does any Ultimate user qualify for the Profiles or only those who purchased it after a certain date?
Thanks

There's no date limit. Any user who has bought both Studio and Ultimate can click the link to request and receive the profiles. As long as I find the email address(es) you specify when you request the profiles in both the registered Studio and Ultimate database, you get them for free.
