what kind of grayscale profiles?  The assigned gamma 2,2 etc, dotgain etc or does it deal better with the Quadtone Rip profile application created B&W printer profiles?

This is something, seeming to be small potatoes, that I really appreciate.
(If you want to try it, Click View and rebuild thumbs)
Not only do I never look up top to see if QU is finished making thumbs and cache, but I always forget to wait an extra couple ticks after I change a White Balance setting in refine before I hit the spacebar or a double click to go to the Editor screen, to see how it looks.
It's also kind of neat to watch Qimage Ultimate releasing each thumb as the cache file is built. I love the yellow thing when it disappears.

With the QTR profiles I made (greyscale ones, not the neutral RGB ones) I never used them in Qimage as I saw deviations too. I did P2P conversions in Photoshop then and kept the Qimage route without CM for B&W printing to the B&W driver modes of the HPs I have. I must have mentioned that ages ago. Nice if it is fixed, next time with B&W I will try it out.
