My Qimage processing speed seems to have increased markedly.

I have 26 pages of 4 X 4 on 8 1/2 X 11 & its been processing 2.5 hrs
and is only 25% done !!  Yesterday 16 pages took ALL DAY - abt 10hrs.

What are the factors influencing processing speed & how can I speed it up !

I have a 2.6Ghz P4 CPU, 4GB & I run Qimage on a RAID 0 disk set.

My memory is that it used to be substantially faster.

What's go'in on ?!

Certainly not a Qimage problem.
I just repeated your processing as best I could and got about 30 mins.
These were 8MP CR2 raw images so that included the "on the fly" raw processing time too. My PC is 3.6 GHz P4, 2GB ram.
The factors that do affect the time are, computer power,  image size, filters present and whether Q is set for multiple core processing. Even on a P4 with dual memory, that should be set. However none of these things make hours of difference.
I suggest you look to see what else is going on when Qimage is being used. Look at Task Manager to see what processes are running. I could be an anti virus program or some other background process.

Terry.

The downsampling anti-aliasing routine can be a bottleneck when you have huge files and need small prints or web images. Try out a lower anti-aliasing setting. The 741 PPI however doesn't suggest downsampling. An odd native resolution though that 741 PPI.
