v2010.107     01/04/10

Priority: Low

v2010.107 includes the following:

    * Raw format update for the Studio Edition includes support for new cameras such as the Canon S90, Pentax K-x, Sony A500/A550, and more.

    * Improved raw performance to prevent (blown) highlights from turning pink on some camera models.

    * Fixed a video driver issue that was causing text in the file rename dialog to be invisible on some Windows 7 systems.

    * Fixed a bug where thumbnails would not update automatically after being edited in another program if the image had a Qimage filter.

When I want to change the print properties I have 2 problems. First, in order to see the first print properties window I have to click on other application or the desktop and then go back to Qimage to see the window. Then when I click on the preferences button I get a windows error message that the 32 bit print driver stopped working. Qimage is then locked up and I have to start task manager and kill Qimage and then restart it. I have been trying to sort out Qimage / printing graphic card issues and just upgraded my graphics card to a GeForce 9800 GT, but this was still happening with my previous GeForce 9600 card. Upgrading to the 9800 card did solve another problem where when I was running Win 7 in the Aero mode I would get a black screen for a few seconds when I had print preview in the Epson driver turned on, just before the print preview window displayed. I was hoping this new video card would solve all my problems. Don't have problems with anything else. Just the interaction between Qimage and the Epson driver. I am running the 64 bit version of Windows 7, clean install.

I might of had this issue (driver stopped working) in the previous versions of Qimage also, occasionally. It has become a more frequent problem lately.

Update - I went into control panel, printer properties (Epson 3800) and changed it to not spool and print directly to the printer. This eliminated getting the 32 bit print driver error message and stopped Qimage from locking up.  It seems to take a long time to come up with the print preview window, longer than with 64 bit Vista. From the Qimage window if I click on the print properties button, to the left of the print button, it still displays underneath the Qimage window and I have to click on another window and then back to Qimage to see the print properties window.

That only worked for awhile. The problem with the 32 bit driver not responding message is back. This is very frustrating.

Things seem to have settled out for the good, for now. I read through the forum and saw the post about RAW Spooling and changed that. Reinstalled the Epson print driver. Recreated one Qimage printer/paper setup. These changes along with the new video card seem to have eliminated the errors. It still seems to be a little slower to come up with the printer dialog boxes but from what I have read from Mike's postings that is most likely not a Qimage issue. If anyone knows of any settings I should check to speed this up please let me know.
