I want to print 3-4X6 pictures on one 8 1/2 X 11 sheet with no space between pictures. When I select "Print Placement" Optimal or Compact, it prints them with no spaces, but it puts the pictures on the top and to the right side of the page. When I first saw that I thought "great, that's going to save me a couple of cuts. However, with further inspection I found that the pictures had grown in size.  It looks like the pictures all have a size of about 4 3/32 X 6 1/8.  The top left picture was actually 4X6 but a little is missing from the top and left side.  The top right picture is 4 3/32 X 6 with a little missing from the top.  The bottom picture 4 3/32 X 6 1/16 with a little of the picture missing on the left side.

I then found I could do an "Edit Page" and could move each of the pictures left and down or I could do a "Select all" and drag all the pictures left and down and get the output I wanted (the pictures are now all 4X6 with nothing missing). But, I could not find a way to save these setting, and I need to repeat this process for each page I print.

Is this a problem with Qimage V 2011.114?  Is there a way to tell Qimage to save the format Optimal or Compact with the pictures shifted right and down?

I changed my R1900 printing preferences from Borderless to Borders.  Now all the pictures print exactly 4X6 without having to move them down and right.

There is no problem with Qimage Ultimate at all.
When you say the prints had grown, you printed or you see something on the screen?
I have an R1800 in front of me and with print orientation in portrait mode, three 4 x 6 prints are right there for you.
See screen snaps showing Compact or Optimal spaced.
The part that you need to help me with is why and what did you do to make prints larger than 4 x 6.
With Crop scissors on, when you open the Print Property box to select the size, you will get the size you ask for; making sure there are no B+ borders tuned on.
Please check the print size as reported by Qimage in the Print queue. See screen snaps.

It would also aid if you would watch this short video at http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage-u/learn.htm
Select the video that says Common Questions 1

To save all the settings, simply click FILE, SAVE and click the "J" button to save a JOB. That will save everything for you.
Please see more of the videos to help you understand and use the SAVE features, and to be able to recall the saved features.

Borderless expands the printable area and affects the actual size.
Watch the "Paper Size and Printable Area" learning video to understand why. QU has a feature to disable the driver expansion in borderless mode so sizes are accurate.

Thanks Terry.  The "Paper Size and Printable Area" video explained exactly why my images were growing in size.
